| Queens Jubilee Party in the Park & The Palace |
| 29 July 2002 |
| |
|

It was probably the greatest rock and pop event since Live Aid.
For those that could not be there the nation tuned in via the television, soaking up the carnival and party atmosphere which reverberated around the whole of Hyde Park and the Serpentine which had five stages including the Asia, Australasia, African, Americas and the European Stages with artistes from all around the World. JHL supplied a full compliment of backline, risers and technicians for all stages.
JHL also supplied the 60" Paiste Gong for the opening of the spectacular evening show at the Palace along with a full backline for Brian Wilson's performance, "Good Vibrations" sounding as fresh as ever.
The event turned out to be roaring success, and climaxed with a spectacular fireworks display.

| RE:COVERED |
| 17 June 2002 |
| |
|

John Henry's have begun supplying BBC Choice (Digital) with sound & backline equipment for its new live music show series "RE:COVERED" (hosted by Dermot O'Leary). The difference between this and other music shows is that each week the three featured acts perform one of their own tracks, plus a cover version of a song of their own choice.
The first show featured Natalie Imbruglia performing "Sunlight" and the Crowded House song "Pineapple Head", The Pet Shop Boys sang "I Can Get Along" and Neil Young's "Philadelphia" and The Stereophonics played "Vegas Two Times" followed by The Beatles "Don't Let Me Down".

| Return of Ozz |
| 17 June 2002 |
| |
|

Fresh from his rehearsals at John Henry's London headquarters, 'The Prince of Darkness' Ozzy Osbourne has now commenced his tour of the UK, Europe and Russia with his sold out shows, Ozzfest.
Many top bands are on the bill including Slayer, Lost Prophets and the awesome S.O.A.D. His band including Zakk Wylde, Mike Bordin, John Sinclair and amazing bass player Robert Trujillo awed crowds on Saturday 25th May at Castle Donnington, and truly brought rock back home, where it belongs to the Derbyshire site.
Long time customer of John Henry's, Ozzy was given the red carpet treatment and set for a guided tour of the Brewery Road complex by Mr. John Henry. Over the years Ozzy has written & rehearsed for many of his albums here in N7 and it was great to see his return, especially as Ozzy has to be one of the most talked about people on the planet at the moment, over the new hit TV series 'The Osbournes' which is now being aired Sunday nights on the MTV music station.
Finally, Ozzy has been asked to play at Buckingham Palace for the Queens Golden Jubilee celebrations and will be adorning our TV screens from 7.30PM on Monday 3rd June.....we can't wait!!!

| The Nice Return |
| 14 May 2002 |
| |
|

At London's 100 Club last month, The Nice (best known back in 1968 for their rendition of the West Side Story tune "America") were reunited for their first performance together since March 1970 in Berlin. The performance was part of a showcase for member Keith Emerson's new album (Keith pictured, third from left). JHL's very own Bazz Ward (pictured right), who was the band's road manager, took a step back in time to reclaim his original role for the gig.
50 Lucky winners of a contest via a website dedicated to another Emerson outfit, ELP, were treated to the performances of "America" and "Rondo" by Emerson and fellow Nice men Lee Jackson (Bass-left) and Brian Davison (Drums-middle).
JHL supplied Keith Emerson with a split Hammond C3, a Leslie 122R and a GMS Keyboard. Brian Davidson played a Sonor Designer series kit with Sabian cymbals from The Attic and Lee Jackson used two Ampeg SVT Classic amp's and two Ampeg 412 cabinets.
The Nice were the first Ampeg endorsees back in 1969, on Bazz's recommendation, the late Ian Stewart took them out with The Rolling Stones throughout the 70's. Keith Emerson's new album "Emerson plays Emerson" is released through EMI Classics on May 6.

| We Will Rock You |
| 25 April 2002 |
| |
|

John Henry’s Attic Sales Team has just finished putting together a huge job for the upcoming musical “We Will Rock You”. Opening at the Dominion Theatre, London in May, "We Will Rock You" has been created and produced by Queen & Ben Elton. Executive Producer is none other than the legendary Robert De Niro. A blend of science fiction, comedy and brilliant songs by Queen, as well as starring the one and only Nigel Planer make up this fantasy rock show.
"The time is the future, in a place that was once called Earth. Globalisation is complete and everywhere the kids watch the same movies, wear the same fashions and think the same thoughts. It’s a safe, happy, Ga Ga World and on Planet Mall Rock‘n’Roll has been banned for centuries. All musical instruments have been banned! Legend persists that somewhere on Planet Mall, instruments still exist. Somewhere, the mighty axe of a great and hairy guitar god lies buried deep in rock. The Bohemians need a hero to find this axe, but the Bohemians must find this hero before the Company does. For if the Ga Ga Cops get him first, they will surely drag him before the Killer Queen and consign him to oblivion across the Seven Seas of Rhye. Where is this axe hero? Where is the Hairy One’s lost axe? Where is the place of living rock?" Come and find out and hear over 30 Queen songs that will get you rocking in the aisles!

| When is a Les Paul not a Les Paul? |
| 22 March 2002 |
| |
|

It looks like a Les Paul. It feels like a Les Paul. It certainly sounds like a Les Paul, until a tweak of a knob reveals the sound of a built in acoustic blender pick up!!! Ordered in especially for Alanis Morrisette's recent shows and TV appearances, this Les Paul's tailpiece hides a piezo acoustic pickup, which provides an instant acoustic guitar sound, which is blendable with the Les Paul sound we all know and love. In stock and available for rental from John Henry's Backline Dept.
