Backline Vacancy - Senior Technician
John Henry’s Ltd. backline department is one of the largest backline rental providers in the world.
We are the major backline suppliers to TV, Festivals, Touring Artists, Venues and Promoters from our base in Central London.
Incorporating a vast and varied inventory, we are constantly growing to meet the demands of our clients and a leader in the industry today.
We are looking to add a new member to our experienced team.
Applicants will be expected to have the following qualities:

An excellent knowledge and passion for backline equipment is essential. Applicants specialising in the particular field of Guitars, Amplifiers and or Keyboards/Synthesizers would be ideal.

Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines while maintaining a professional level of attention to detail, also including good prioritizing skills to deal with the regular change in department deadlines.

Be ready to work overtime (including weekend days) at short notice to fulfil department commitments in busy periods, and to cover the department at the weekends on a staff rota system.

A friendly and helpful demeanour dealing with customers.

Physically fit, no history of back problems.

Be able to work as part of a team and also individually.

Good reading and writing skills. An ability to focus on the small amount of paperwork you will be in charge of is essential.
The job will involve:

Preparation of backline equipment for a vast array of events from concerts, live broadcast to TV playback shows (and everything inbetween!), often working to bespoke specifications requested by bands.

Cataloguing the movement of equipment using company paperwork and software.

Checking of equipment back from events, including the reporting of damages/losses.

Maintenance of stock which can be repaired in house.

Assisting the movement/cataloguing/rigging and de-rigging of equipment in and out of JHL rehearsal studios.

Assisting with loading gear in and out of (but not limited to) the Backline Dept. This will include general movement of stock to and from other JHL depts and also the warehouse mezzanine floor.

Staging Vacancy
John Henry’s Ltd. stage department established since 1976 is one of the longest running and highly regarded staging providers in the UK.
We are one of the major staging suppliers to TV, Festivals, Touring Artists, Venues and Promoters from our base in Central London.
Currently incorporating staging, draping, flooring, dance mirrors, acoustic screens and music stands our staging department is dynamic and constantly growing to meet the demands of our clients and a leader in the staging industry today.
We are looking to add a new member to our experienced team.
Applicants will be expected to have the following qualities:
- Be physically fit and in good health
- No history of back problems
- Have a good and positive attitude to hard work
- Be able to listen to others and carry out detailed instructions
- To have patience and be good at problem solving
- Be able to work as part of a team and also individually
- To be motivated to give 100% in any job given
Skills ideal candidate will have (others will still be considered):
- Experience in staging or crew work
- Basic carpentry skills
- Basic maths and reading/writing skills
- Basic computer skills
- Clean drivers licence
The job will involve:
- Maintenance of stage dept stock
- Preparation of stock and jobs
- Installation of stage dept stock on jobs/projects
- General warehouse duties including cleaning, organization & management
